Health and Wellness Coaching
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Health and Wellness Coaching covered by insurance?
At this time health and wellness coaching is not covered by insurance but it might be soon. I’ll let you know as soon as we hear more.
Can I pay for Health Coaching with my HSA or FSA?
Maybe! Please check with your provider to see if they cover health coaching and if so, what terms (if any) are associated with that coverage. You may need to provide a letter from your primary care doctor supporting your need for this additional support. I can also provide information on health and wellness coaching to assist in getting coverage.
What’s the difference between a Coach and a Nutritionist, Dietitian, Therapist?
Coaches help bridge the gap between these practitioners and your goals. We have a baseline knowledge in health care that can assist us as we support you but we are not nutritionist, dietitians or therapists.
For example: Your physical therapist may give you exercises to do in between your appointments. You know what you need to do but you can’t find time or motivation. This is where a coach can help.
What is the NBHWC and why is it important?

Coaches that hold the NBC-HWC credential have completed approved educational programs, passed assessments and the board exam that help move the profession forward and hold coaches accountable within the industry.
